Update, March 25, 6:10 p.m. The Berkeley Police report that, contrary to earlier information, one of the shooting victims was not arrested by the Oakland Police Department. “No arrest was made after all, [it was] possibly an old warrant,” said Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats, via email. Update, March 25, 10:50 a.m. Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats provided a short statement Tuesday morning about the shooting Monday night in South Berkeley. She confirmed that, at 9:41 p.m., police received numerous 911 calls about possible gunshots on in the 1500 block of Harmon Street. Officers who responded found bullet casings and several damaged vehicles, as well as damage to a home. There were no victims on scene when police arrived. Highland Hospital notified the Berkeley Police Department a short time later that two males, ages 16 and 19, had come in seeking treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Berkeley officers responded to the hospital to speak with them. During their investigation, police discovered that the 16-year-old victim had a no-bail warrant from the Oakland Police Department.
